Our Journey Towards Sustainability

At Sadie & Sage, we recognize the urgent need for sustainable practices within the fashion industry. While we acknowledge that we have a long way to go, we are committed to making meaningful changes to reduce our environmental footprint and promote ethical practices throughout our supply chain.

A Vision for a Greener Future

  • We believe in transparency and accountability. As we embark on this journey, we will keep our customers informed about our progress, challenges, and achievements. We invite you to join us in holding ourselves accountable as we strive to become a more sustainable company.

  • At Sadie & Sage, we champion preorders as a pivotal strategy in our fight against overproduction and fashion waste. Our commitment is clear: we craft each garment only upon receiving an order, ensuring every piece is produced only when necessary.

Care For Your Clothing

  • The way you care for your clothing holds significant influence. Proper care translates to extended wearability.

Here are some tips to take care of your very own Sadie & Sage pieces:

    1. Follow Care Instructions: Always adhere to the care labels on your garments. Different fabrics and designs may require specific washing, drying, and ironing instructions to maintain their quality.

    2. Wash Less Frequently: Unless clothing is visibly soiled, avoid washing after every wear. Over-washing can cause fabrics to wear out faster. Instead, spot clean minor stains and air out clothing between wears.

    3. Wash in Cold Water: Washing clothes in cold water not only saves energy but also helps preserve colors and prevent shrinkage, especially for delicate fabrics.

    4. Air Dry Whenever Possible: Whenever feasible, air dry clothes instead of using a dryer. Air drying is gentler on fabrics and helps retain their shape and color. Hang or lay garments flat to dry to avoid stretching.

Our Community & Our Values

    • Empowerment: We believe in empowering women through fashion, celebrating their individuality, confidence, and self-expression.

    • Inclusivity: We embrace diversity and inclusivity, offering a diverse range of sizes, styles, and designs that cater to women of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds.

    • Community Engagement: As a woman-owned business, we prioritize the support of women, especially those from marginalized communities. Through initiatives such as providing meals for homeless individuals and clothing for survivors of domestic violence and sex trafficking, we strive to make a positive impact within the communities we serve.

    • Environmental Responsibility: We are dedicated to achieving a high level of sustainability in our operations. While we acknowledge that we are not yet where we aspire to be, we are committed to making significant strides in this direction. Our efforts include sourcing exploring ways to reduce water and energy consumption, and developing ways to breathe new life into dead stock yardage. We recognize the importance of transparency in our sustainability journey and are committed to keeping our customers informed about our progress and challenges along the way.

  • Sadie & Sage has always championed giving back to its community, and since 2018 we have channeled our surplus inventory towards supporting vulnerable communities, including but not limited to individuals experiencing homelessness, at-risk youth, survivors of sex trafficking and domestic violence.
